Study Visit by the Delegation of the Intellectual Property Institute of Montenegro to the SIPO

The State Intellectual Property Office hosted a visit by the delegation of the Intellectual Property Institute of Montenegro led by the Director of the Institute Ms Valentina Radulović Šćepanović last week in the period from 7th to 8th December 2017.

The work of the State Intellectual Property Office was presented within the visit and the colleagues from Montenegro learned about the work of the Trademarks Department particularly as to absolute and relative grounds for refusal to register a trademark and acting upon requests for transfer of rights and then generally about the representation system in the field of industrial property rights. The occasion was used to agree on further education regarding the International Classification of Figurative Elements of Marks (the Vienna Classification) to be held next year within the Information Centre for Intellectual Property of the Office (INCENTIV).

This visit offered yet another opportunity to continue with successful cooperation between the SIPO and the Montenegrin Institute.
