Madrid e-Filing

Madrid e-Filing provides users with a fully digital and streamlined environment for filing international applications and for national intellectual property offices to process applications for international trademark registration. Through this platform, trademark holders can communicate directly with their national office and receive and respond to all notifications of irregularities issued by WIPO. The process is secure and saves valuable time.

How to use Madrid e-Filing?

  1. Access the Madrid e-Filing service via the SIPO website
  2. Log in and select the "New application" option on the interface;
    If you do not have a WIPO account, you can open one at the following link.
  3. Enter your national (Republic of Croatia) trademark application or registration number to enter key data (name of the holder, type of trademark, representation of the trademark, list of goods and services) directly from your basic trademark application or registration;
  4. Follow the instructions to complete your international application;
  5. Payment of fees and international charges:
  • WIPO fees can be paid via a current account opened with WIPO, by credit card, bank transfer or PayPal (learn more about payment methods) (learn more about payment methods);
  • The fee for forwarding the application should be paid directly to SIPO (i.e., separately from WIPO international fees). Payment instructions

What's next?

1. Through the Madrid e-Filing application, your application will go directly to SIPO for validation.

2. After confirmation, SIPO will forward your international application to WIPO for formal examination and registration through the Madrid e-Filing application. You can check the status of your application in real time at any time using the Madrid Monitor option within the eMadrid application.
