EUIPO’s New Educational Platform
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) published a new educational e-platform Ideas Powered @ School. This is a new multimedia resource with an aim to bring intellectual property closer to schoolchildren across the European Union and help them develop their creativity and innovation skills.
The new portal offers teachers, lecturers, but also parents as well, a set of modern learning contents and materials to be used in daily teaching practice for children and youth aged 4 to 18 on intellectual property rights, on possibilities of protecting their own creative and innovative works and on the need to respect the work of others.
The portal is also aimed to promote entrepreneurial and innovation-oriented mind-sets among the young. The web page features three practical teacher training modules, to inspire educators to include age-appropriate intellectual property principles and concepts in their lessons.
The portal Ideas Powered @ School is part of the EUIPO’s wider IP in Education project and in line with the EU’s efforts to promote Key Competences for Lifelong Learning.
We invite all the interested parties to get acquainted with the contents, conditions of use and possibilities offered by this new educational platform developed in collaboration with the EUIPO and educational experts from responsible institutions of the EU Member States that constitute the IP in Education network.
