Activities and results of work of the EU Observatory during the last year were presented at the meeting and activities, programmes and initiatives to be delivered within the work of the EU Observatory in the forthcoming period were discussed, comprising three major goals: collection of evidence and facts in the field of the enforcement of intellectual property rights and preparation of studies and analyses, maintenance and development of databases and information tools used by responsible authorities in combating infringements of intellectual property rights (for example the IP Enforcement Platform) and raising public awareness of adverse consequences of counterfeiting and piracy.
