Public Professional Meeting „Croatia in the Community Trademark and Community Design Systems“

On the occasion of marking the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union on 1 July, 2013 and the inclusion in the Community trademark and Community design systems, a public professional meeting “Croatia in the Community Trademark and Community Design Systems” was organized in cooperation of the State Intellectual Property Office and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market Trademarks and Designs – OHIM and held in Zagreb, on 2 July, 2013.

At the beginning of the public professional meeting the participants were welcomed by Ms. Ljiljana Kuterovac, Director General of the Office, Ms. Sandra Artuković-Kunšt, Deputy Minister to the Ministry of Justice and Mr. Antonio Campinos, the President of OHIM.

The representatives of OHIM, Mr. Ignacio de Medrano Caballero, Mr. Goran Marjanović and Mr. Simon White have, within the framework of their professional lectures, made presentations of the Community trademark and Community design systems as well as the European Trademark and Design Network and have given a practical presentation of the Community trademark and Community design procedures.

In the second part of the professional meeting, Dr. Tamás Csóti, a judge at the Metropolitan Tribunal from Budapest made a presentation on the Hungarian experience in joining the Community trademark and Community design systems and has given the participants the examples from the court practice of the Hungarian courts, as Community Trademark and Community Design Courts.
