National Day of Nikola Tesla - Day of Science, Technology and Innovation, July 10

Notice on new European Union sanctions against the Russian Federation in the field of intellectual property
We hereby inform all the interested parties that the COUNCIL REGULATION (EU) 2024/1745 of 24 June 2024 amending Regulation (EU) No. 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine, which, among other things, strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation in the field of intellectual property, came into force on 25 June 2024 at 00.00.

Meeting of the representatives of intellectual property offices of the extended Visegrad Group in Opatija
The meeting of the representatives of intellectual property offices of the so-called extended Visegrad Groups countries was held this autumn on 13 October in Opatija, hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia.The Visegrad Group (V4) reflects the efforts of the countries of the Central European region to cooperate more closely in a number of areas of common interest within the framework of pan-European integration.

On 17 May, 2023, the European Commission published the Report on the Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in third countries. The Report identifies countries outside of the European Union (third countries) in which, following the analyses and results of targeted consultation, the state of IPR protection and enforcement is not at a satisfactory level.

Recommendation of the European Commission on Combating Online Piracy of Sports and Other Live Events
On 4 May 2023, the European Commission (hereinafter: the Commission) adopted the Recommendation on combating online piracy of sports and other live events, such as concerts and theatre performances. These are unauthorised online retransmissions of content protected by copyright and/or related rights on a commercial scale causing direct damage to rightholders.
