EUIPO’s and OECD’s Study on the Misuse of Containerized Maritime Shipping in the Global Trade of Counterfeits
The European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) published a study dealing with the analysis of the scale of misuse of containerized maritime transport for trade in counterfeit goods. The study was prepared in cooperation between the EUIPO and the OECD, and it is published as originally titled “Misuse of Containerized Maritime Shipping in the Global Trade of Counterfeits”.

The Study on “European Citizens and Intellectual Property – Perception, Awareness and Behaviour“

Plenary Meeting of the EU Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights
We would like to inform you that the EU Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights (hereinafter: EU Observatory) held its Plenary meeting on 30 September and 1 October 2020. The virtual meeting was attended by representatives from competent authorities of the Member States of the European Union, the European Parliament, the European Commission, international organisations, as well as many representatives from organisations of intellectual property rights holders and associations of civil society.

WIPO awards presented at ARCA, the 18th International Exhibition of Innovations
Matija Hržić, in the category of young people, was awarded the “WIPO Schoolchildren's Trophy International Innovation Exhibition ARCA2020 Croatia 2020“, for the innovation of “Smart bee scale”.
Tehnix d.o.o., in the category of seniors, was awarded the “WIPO Medal for Inventors Zagreb 2020” for the innovation of “Mobile corona quarantine Tehnix 4/8”.

European Commission Published Reports on Results of Applying Memoranda of Understanding Focused on Combating Counterfeit Goods on the Internet
The European Commission published on its website a Report on the functioning of the 2011 Memorandum of understanding on the sale of counterfeit goods on the internet and a Report on the functioning of the 2018 Memorandum of understanding on online advertising and intellectual property rights. European Commission Has Published the Roadmap for Intellectual Property Action Plan
European Commission has published the Roadmap for Intellectual Property Action Plan whose aim is to inform citizens and stakeholders about the Commission's work in order to allow them to provide feedback and to participate effectively in future consultation activities. Two Reports Published by EUIPO on the Occasion of the World Anti-Counterfeiting Day
On the occasion of the World Anti-Counterfeiting Day, celebrated on 10 June this year, the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) published two new reports related to the fight against counterfeiting and crime in the field of intellectual property. The World Anti-Counterfeiting Day has been celebrated in June every year, ever since 1998.
